Scheduling Updates to Your Website Will Pay Off

As you begin to market yourself regularly, you should also schedule a time to update your website on a consistent basis.  Pick at least one day a month to complete this task. Pick up your phone and put it in your schedule now... go on... do it now......  sweet! Remember this is NOT A COMPLETE OVERHAUL EACH TIME! Do not overwhelm yourself!  Like I said this is a quick and easy update. It should be an achievable process that you can do without too much frustration.

It's All About the Content

One reason you should regularly schedule site updates is to keep things fresh and interesting. But the main reason you should do it is to have a reason to reach out to people on your list and create a buzz about your business.  New content updates are great for reaching out to your email list or Social Media audience and saying "Check out my new stuff!"

Here is a list of a few basic content ideas you should update on a regular basis.

Professional bride/wedding images

Behind the scenes on your blog

Update For More Visibility

New content, SEO and design tweaks are a must to keep your site ranking in Search Engines, especially Google.  This makes it easier for prospective clients to find you. Search Engines like to see activity on websites.  Minor updates attract their web crawlers and thus increasing your chances of coming up in web searches. So for now, use what content you have and do a minor update and clean up any sloppy looking pages you may have.

If you are all caught up on your updates on your scheduled day, take this time to find/gather new content for your site. Reach out (email/text/call) clients you have worked for and ask them to send you your work.  A friendly reminder never hurts and you will also be the most recent MUA on their mind for any upcoming projects.  This is a win-win!!
